Fees and Rebates

  • The Australian Psychological Society recommends a fee of $311 for a 50-minute psychology consultation.

Sessions with me are set at two main fee types:

    (1) Standard fee before Medicare rebate at $260

    (2) After hours fee before Medicare rebate (before 9am, after 4pm) at $280.

If you have a referral letter, you can claim a Medicare rebate of $141.85.

Medicare rebates are processed by the practice at the same time as session fees. Rebates are paid directly to the bank account that you have provided Medicare.

  • Couples Initial Assessment session (80 mins) including access to Gottman Relationship Check Up assessment - $450

Couples Follow Up sessions (50 mins) - $285

Couples Follow Up session (80 mins) - $420

    Individual sessions (50 mins) - $260

Medicare rebates do not apply to couples therapy.

Usual after hours fee of $20 (before 9am, after 4pm) surcharge applies.

  • Payment will be processed electronically via STRIPE on Powerdiary using the card details you authorise when completing your online intake form.

You can read more about Stripe's security here.

You will provide consent and your payment card details when completing your initial intake forms.

  • For Medicare rebate, please email the practice with a digital copy of your referral letter AND your Mental Health Care Plan.

Your referral letter should be addressed to Dr Natasha Tung.

A referral letter is different from a Mental Health Care Plan . I need both to process your rebates.

Rebate amount is the same for in-person or telehealth sessions.

Please refer to this website for more information on the Medicare Better Health Access initiative.

  • Only Australian citizens or permanent residents are eligible for this.

Your GP will need to conduct a Mental Health Care Plan to activate the Better Access scheme.

International students should be eligible to claim rebates from their health insurance provider. If so, you will similarly require a referral letter (addressed to Dr Natasha Tung) and a Mental Health Care Plan. You are eligible to receive rebates for ten sessions per calendar year (Jan-Dec).

Your initial referral letter will usually allow for 6 sessions. Once that is exhausted, your psychologist will write a brief progress letter to your referrer and you will need to obtain another referral letter for the remaining 4 sessions.

Please discuss any questions with your psychologist/GP/Medicare.

  • Rebates will be organised by yourself with your insurance provider, using the invoice we provide upon your payment.

Note. You cannot claim from Medicare and your health fund for the same consultation.

I do not offer services under WorkCover, DVA, Victims of Crime and TAC.

  • The following fees apply for appointments cancelled by you:

    • Full fees, with less than 24 hours’ notice

    • 50% of fees, with 24 - 48 hours’ notice

Cancellation fees cannot be claimed through Medicare or your health fund.

Cancellations need to be done via email.
