Fees and Rebates
-
The Australian Psychological Society recommends a fee of $311 for a 50-minute psychology consultation (as of 2024).
Sessions with me are set at two main fee types:
Standard fee before Medicare rebate at $260
After hours fee before Medicare rebate (before 9am, after 4pm) at $280.
If you have a referral letter, you can claim a Medicare rebate of $141.85.
Medicare rebates are processed by the practice at the same time as session fees. Rebates are paid directly to the bank account that you have provided Medicare.
Therapy fees are reviewed annually and may be adjusted to reflect changes in the cost of service delivery and the Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation rate for Victoria. Fee changes generally occur following the conclusion of the financial year. This ensures sustainable provision of quality care. -
[Please note that Kaki Psychology is pausing the provision of couples therapy services]
Couples Initial Assessment session including access to Gottman Relationship Check Up assessment - $325
Couples sessions - $285
Individual sessions - $260
Medicare rebates do not apply to couples therapy.
Usual after hours fee of $20 (before 9am, after 4pm) surcharge applies.

For Medicare rebate, please email the practice with a digital copy of your referral letter AND your Mental Health Care Plan.
Your referral letter should be addressed to Dr Natasha Tung.
A referral letter is different from a Mental Health Care Plan. I need both to process your rebates.
Rebate amount is the same for in-person or telehealth sessions.
Please refer to this website for more information on the Medicare Better Health Access initiative.

Only Australian citizens or permanent residents are eligible for this.
Your GP will need to conduct a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) to activate the Better Access scheme.
If you have accessed this scheme before, then you would likely have an existing MHCP. In this case, you will only need a review of your MHCP and a new referral letter.
International students should be eligible to claim rebates from their health insurance provider.
If so, you will similarly require a referral letter (addressed to Dr Natasha Tung) and a Mental Health Care Plan.
You are eligible to receive rebates for ten sessions per calendar year (Jan-Dec).
Your initial referral letter will usually allow for 6 sessions.
Once that is exhausted, your psychologist will write a brief progress letter to your referrer
Then, you will need to obtain another referral letter for the remaining 4 sessions.
Please discuss any questions with your psychologist/GP/Medicare.

Rebates will be organised by yourself with your insurance provider, using the invoice we provide upon your payment.
Note. You cannot claim from Medicare and your health fund for the same consultation.
I do not offer services under WorkCover, DVA, Victims of Crime and TAC.
I provide appointments for individuals who self-manage their NDIS plan.
-
The following fees apply for appointments cancelled by you:
Full fees, with less than 24 hours notice
50% of fees, with 24 - 48 hours notice
Cancellation fees cannot be claimed through Medicare or your health fund.
Cancellations less than 48 hours before your appointment need to be done via email.

Please note that I do not provide one-off assessment reports or court reports. My role is focussed on providing therapy and assessment relevant to your treatment.

Clients living with a long-term health condition may be able to access rebates under a Chronic Disease GP Management Plan (GPMP) or Team Care Arrangement (TCA), both written by a General Practitioner. These plans allow the recipient to access up to 5 rebated sessions with allied health services per year.
The Medicare rebate for services under a chronic disease plan is $60.35
